Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva, who is on a three-day official visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, highlighted that he signed today with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Xavier Bettel, the extension of the PIC, which strengthens the partnership "in areas vital for Cape Verde", in a "particularly challenging" global context.

The new PIC, he announced, will now be around 116 million euros.

"The financial package is increased by 7.6 million euros for the water and sanitation sectors, and 10 million euros for vocational training, employment and employability programs," wrote the head of government.

Ulisses Correia e Silva also indicated that the two parties discussed “supplementary support” that should be established to contribute to the financing needs of the recovery of infrastructure destroyed and damaged by the storm of August 11.
