Vuca Pinheiro to be featured in free concert on World Portuguese Language Day in Cambridge
Vuca Pinheiro

Cape Verdean musician Vuca Pinheiro will be one of the main highlights of the World Portuguese Language Day celebrations, which will take place on May 3 at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cambridge Public Library. The event, which is free to attend, will bring together the Portuguese-speaking community around music and shared cultural identity.

Vuca Pinheiro will take to the stage accompanied by Nhela Sax, presenting a repertoire centered on Cape Verdean mornas, a genre deeply linked to the archipelago's history and emotional expression. The performance should provide an authentic experience of Cape Verdean music, with an emphasis on tradition and the connection with the diaspora.

The concert will also feature other Portuguese-speaking artists, but the participation of Vuca Pinheiro should be particularly important, reinforcing Cape Verde's representation in an international celebration of the Portuguese language. After the performances, the public will be able to enjoy a convivial moment with light snacks.

The initiative is part of the global celebrations of World Portuguese Language Day and underlines the role of music as a vehicle for cultural preservation and connection between communities.
