Tribute and Recognition for Professor Eduardo Fernandes
We would like to pay a heartfelt tribute to Professor Eduardo Fernandes, a native of Ilha Brava and a native of the small, welcoming community of Cachaço, and to express our deep appreciation and pride in him.
It is a source of great satisfaction to see someone from Brava carry the values of our homeland so far through hard work, dedication, and service to others.
His career began as a teacher at Nossa Senhora do Monte, on Brava Island, where he helped educate countless children and young people. Later, he took over as principal of the Aurélio Gonçalves Elementary School in Chã de Cricket, in the city of Mindelo, and in recent years, he has served with great competence as principal of the Monte Sossego School.
Wherever he goes, he leaves a positive mark. He is recognized as a competent professional, a dedicated leader, and, above all, a big-hearted person. He has successfully forged partnerships—including with Cape Verdean emigrants—to mobilize support for the most disadvantaged students and families, demonstrating that education is also built on solidarity and social commitment.
The implementation of the Honor Roll is further proof of his vision, encouraging merit, excellence, and the recognition of students.
Professor Eduardo Fernandes brings honor not only to Cape Verdean education but also to his homeland. The small community of Cachaço, on Ilha Brava, is certainly proud to see one of its own stand out for his hard work, humility, and the example he sets for future generations.
This is a well-deserved tribute to a native of Ilha Brava who represents his island with dignity and competence wherever he may be.
Congratulations, Professor Eduardo Fernandes! May God continue to bless your journey, granting you health, wisdom, and strength to continue transforming lives through education.
