Armindo Sousa elected new chairman of TACV's board of directors
TACV's General Meeting, held on Tuesday 21st, confirmed the election of Armindo Sousa as the new chairman of the board of directors and the integration of Mário Tavares, until then director of Quality, into the executive committee.

During the meeting, which took place in Praia, the proposal presented by Victor Fidalgo, the company's largest private shareholder, for a salary increase for the three members of the executive committee, was also approved.
In statements to Rádio de Cabo Verde (RCV), the shareholder explained that the measure aims to "stabilize and compensate" the professionals who have been working to consolidate the company, pointing out that TACV "is a complex company, in the commercial aviation sector, and cannot be compared with other simpler companies in Cape Verde".
"I decided to make this proposal taking into account the overall situation of the salaries of the company's senior staff and also what is paid in similar small companies so that we can have a reasonable and attractive salary framework," he pointed out.
He also added that a roadmap and a mission charter will be drawn up to guarantee the monitoring and evaluation of the board of directors' performance, as well as the definition of a business plan that will allow for greater transparency in management.
When asked about the pilots' demands, Fidalgo said that it will be up to the new board of directors to analyze the situation and make a decision, and that they can appeal to the shareholders if they consider it necessary.
He also acknowledged that Cabo Verde Airlines (TACV) is facing financial fragility, so any decision with an economic impact must be agreed in advance with the state, the majority shareholder with 51% of the share capital.
The shareholder expressed confidence in the new management team, pointing out that the new directors "have experience in the sector and knowledge of the house", which could contribute to a phase of "greater stability and efficiency" for the airline, which is in the process of being privatized again, with no date yet set.
According to the proposal, the salary of the chairman of the board of directors will be PTE 450, while the directors will receive a salary of PTE 405.
