Atlantic Shipping is a good example of partnership, modernization and innovation
The Prime Minister said this during the company's 30th anniversary gala in Swansea, Mass.
Ulisses Correia e Silva, in Swansea, Mass, highlighted the crucial role of Atlantic Shipping in strengthening trade relations between the United States and Cape Verde, in supporting the Diaspora through remittances and in encouraging investment.
During the Gala Celebrating the company's 30th anniversary, the Head of Government stressed that the measures adopted by the Executive, in conjunction with Atlantic Shipping, "have made it possible to reduce time and costs in the customs clearance of small orders and goods, with security and logistics supported by digital".
Ulisses Correia e Silva pointed to Atlantic Shipping as "a good example of partnership, modernization and innovation", stressing that the company represents "an inspiration to believe in the country as a market of opportunities, to have an entrepreneurial attitude and to generate results".
The Prime Minister also addressed a message to the Cape Verdean Diaspora, calling on them to go beyond traditional remittances and invest directly in the country. "Invest in tourism, real estate, the digital economy, fisheries and smart agriculture. There are instruments such as the Emigrant Investor Statute, with good incentives, and service spaces at consulates," he said.
Emphasizing the identity and cultural connection between the Diaspora and the Archipelago, Correia e Silva concluded that "Cape Verde is your country of origin, your culture, your identity. United by language, music, the flag and the anthem of Freedom, we are stronger".
