Braga town ready to celebrate the feast of Santa Cruz
Party organizer Maria Gonçalves told Inforpress today that everything is ready for the traditional Santa Cruz festival, which takes place on May 3, in the community of Braga, on the island of Brava.
Barbinha believes that Jesus died on the cross to save the world and, therefore, takes seriously the celebration of this feast that means a lot to all who believe in it.
According to the party organizer, this event is being held with the help of Bravense residents and emigrants to collect donations, and the local authority is also a partner in this great celebration.
“I am currently having health problems and I am also getting older, but with all my effort, dedication and good will I will do everything I can to celebrate the Holy Cross with joy,” he promised.
Regarding cultural activities, the party organizer informed that some local artists and those from Fogo Island will perform free of charge at an event to be held this Friday evening, and everyone will be able to participate and have fun.
“Everyone is invited to participate in this celebration that belongs to the people of Brava and beyond, so come and celebrate that Santa Cruz is very big and has its arms open to welcome everyone”, he concluded.
