Brava resumes regional soccer: Super Cup marks official start of 2025/2026 season
Nova Sintra City, November 25, 2025 (Bravanews) - After a season without a regional soccer championship, the Brava Regional Football Association (ARFB) has confirmed the return of official competitions, setting December 14 as the start of the new sports season on the island.
The date will be marked with the Brava Super Cup, in a match between Morabeza and Nô Pintcha, scheduled for 3pm at the Aquiles de Oliveira Stadium. This symbolic match will officially mark the opening of the competitions, after several months of competitive hiatus.
The following week will see the start of the Opening Tournament, which precedes the start of the Regional Championship, scheduled for January 11. Alongside the championship, the traditional Brava Cup will also take place, keeping the competitive calendar full throughout the season.
In exclusive statements to Bravanews, the president of the Brava Regional Football Association, Samuel Varela, said he had done "everything in his power" to ensure the return of competitions this year, highlighting "the great commitment of the clubs and their managers", a determining factor in making the start of the season possible.
With the official confirmation of the calendar, the expectation of fans and athletes, who were eagerly awaiting the return of organized soccer on the island, is reborn.
