Direct Support for Families Affected by the Brava Market Fire
Following the fundraiser promoted by Brava emigrants in the USA, we would like to inform you that 50% of the amount collected, corresponding to 323,440$00, was given directly to the people affected by the fire at the Brava Municipal Market. Each of the families received 24,880$00 as immediate solidarity support to cover the losses suffered.
The other 50% of the funds raised will go towards the reconstruction of the Brava Municipal Market, an intervention that will also have the support of the Cape Verdean government and whose implementation will begin shortly. This partnership reinforces the joint commitment to the recovery and revitalization of this fundamental space for the local economy.
The Municipality of Brava thanks, with deep gratitude, all those involved in this initiative, recognizing the essential role of our diaspora as an active partner in the sustainable development of the island.
