New ship for the Brava-Fogo route already on its journey to Cape Verde.
The new ship destined to ensure the Brava-Fogo-Brava maritime link is already on its way to Cape Verde. The announcement was made today by the parliamentary leader of the MpD, Luís Carlos Silva, through his official Facebook page, where he shared a video of the vessel.
The parliamentary leader of the MpD party, Luís Carlos Silva, announced today that the new ship intended for the exclusive maritime link between the islands of Brava and Fogo is already on its way to Cape Verde.
“In November 2025 it was announced that Brava would have a new ship exclusively for the Brava–Fogo–Brava route. Today, that commitment takes shape: the ship is already sailing to Cape Verde and represents a response to improve people's mobility, strengthen the transport of goods and guarantee a safer, more regular and predictable maritime link between the two islands,” he wrote.
It is worth recalling that in December 2025, following the announcement made in parliament, the Executive approved the acquisition of a Roll-On/Roll-Off Passenger (RORO PAX) vessel for passengers and cargo, intended to guarantee the continuity and regularity of the maritime connection between the islands of Brava and Fogo.
The resolution authorized the State to acquire a ship capable of simultaneously transporting passengers and cargo, complying with national and international technical and safety standards.
