ORLANDO PEREIRA DIAS - a combative MP, a proven politician!

Graduated in Medicine with a grade point average of 19, he practiced in the hospitals of Praia and Fogo, and was Health Delegate of Santa Cruz (1992-1999). Evaluated by the Ministry of Health with a grade of 19, today he is a Senior Doctor, at the top of the medical career in Cape Verde.
Specialist and Master in Public Health with distinction, since 2010, with an innovative thesis on the future of the Cape Verdean health system.
Militant of the MpD since 1990, he took part in the party's Constitutive Convention and was a member of the first Executive Committee on the island of Fogo.
National Deputy for several terms, List Leader for the Santa Cruz Electoral Circle and, since 2011, for the Africa Electoral Circle.
He chaired the Health and Social Issues Committee of the Cape Verdean Parliament and held positions of high responsibility, such as Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Affairs.
He was Secretary General of the MpD, a member of political commissions and a representative in the revision of the Electoral Code.
Vice-President of the ECOWAS Parliament, accumulating the presidency of the Specialized Committee on Health and Social Affairs. He is currently Chair of the Health Committee in the ECOWAS Parliament, strengthening Cape Verde's voice in regional integration.
