Jorge Monteiro reports damage to his property and accuses the Brava City Council of failing to fulfill its obligations

At issue is a portion of his land, located in the Pedra Molar area, which, according to Monteiro, was damaged after a machine belonging to the Brava Municipal Government (CMB) passed through the site.

According to the report provided to Bravanews, municipal officials reportedly asked Monteiro to allow a machine to pass through a portion of his property. The owner says he agreed to cooperate, on the condition that the damage caused to the land be restored or repaired immediately after the work was completed.

Monteiro claims, however, that the commitment made was not fulfilled.

According to his account, after the machine passed through, he waited for the City Council to repair the affected area. Time has passed, and, according to the former employee, no repairs have been made to date.

The situation, according to Monteiro, has become even more difficult due to the lack of response he says he is receiving from the mayor of Brava.

“I’ve made countless calls, but Mayor Amândio Brito doesn’t answer or return my calls,” he said.

Visibly dissatisfied with the situation, Jorge Monteiro states that he has tried to contact the mayor several times, but without success.

The former employee says he has made numerous calls in an attempt to get an explanation or find out when the City Council intends to fulfill its commitment, but claims that the mayor has not been answering his calls.

For Monteiro, the lack of a response further exacerbates a problem that, according to him, could have been resolved with relative ease had the promise of compensation been fulfilled.

Confined to bed following a stroke, Monteiro explains that his physical condition also limits his ability to travel and personally follow the proceedings. Even so, he says he does not intend to drop the matter and has decided to turn to the media to make the situation public.

According to his account, the transfer of part of the property did not occur on his own initiative, but rather following a request made by individuals close to the City Council to allow the machine to pass through.

Monteiro states that, at the time, he agreed to cooperate because he understood that the work was necessary and that the City Council would take responsibility for repairing the damage afterward.

The expectation, he explains, was that the work on the property would be temporary and that, once the work was completed, the affected area would be properly restored.

The owner believes that, having allowed a portion of his property to be used to facilitate the municipality’s work, it would be reasonable to expect the City Council to fulfill its commitment to repair the damage caused.

What initially, according to Monteiro, seemed like a simple situation to resolve ended up becoming a source of frustration.

The former employee says that quite some time has passed since the work was done and that he is still waiting for a solution. The lack of a concrete response from the local government, he says, led him to contact Bravanews to bring attention to the case.

Enraged and, at the same time, skeptical that the situation can be resolved, Monteiro says he feels ignored.

For him, more than the property damage caused to the land, what causes the greatest outrage is the lack of response to his attempts to contact them.

“I helped when they asked me to cede the land, and now I’m waiting for them to fulfill what was agreed upon,” is, in short, the position Monteiro expressed to Bravanews.
