Music, Solidarity, and Hope: Scuta Music Hosts a Cultural Evening to Benefit Quintal das Artes

Mindelo, July 28, 2026 (Bravanews) — Time and the elements leave their mark on the land, but there is also a community spirit capable of rebuilding whatever seems lost. The rains of August 11 left deep scars on the city of Mindelo and across the entire island of São Vicente—and, of course, on the Quintal das Artes cultural center—but the spirit of those who breathe life into culture there remained unshaken.

The people who work there didn’t wait for someone from outside to come and solve the problem. With tremendous determination, the team simply did what it always did best: they joined hands, rolled up their sleeves, and began the reconstruction.

Plank by plank, what the force of the water had tried to carry away rose from the ground. However, there are battles that require more than just strong arms and an iron will.

For this recovery to be complete, the community’s solidarity is a fundamental pillar. It is precisely in this spirit of unity that SCUTA Music, under the leadership of Armando Madeira, is organizing a major charity event to benefit Quintal das Artes.

The event is scheduled for next Saturday, August 1, at 8:00 p.m., at Quintal das Artes. It promises to be a unique evening, where music will serve as a true gesture of recognition for all the artisans who refused to let this very special space fade away.

The evening’s special guest is the renowned Benvindo Cruz, whose striking voice still remains vivid in the memory of all who had the privilege of hearing him at the recent and moving tribute to Morgadinho.

This time, the talented artist returns to the stage with the mission of putting all his talent to work for a cause that deserves much more than mere applause.

After all, rebuilding a physical space is essential, but rebuilding the hope of those who never gave up is a duty we all share. The organization is counting on the presence and support of the entire community to make this evening a great success.
