Alberto Gomes, or simply TITIN, a living legend of Bravense football.
Alberto Gomes, or simply TITIN, a living legend of Bravense football.
Born on September 2, 1961 in the small village of Pedra Martin, Alberto Gomes had humble beginnings, with his parents migrating to Angola and returning to Cape Verde in 1975.
Despite the difficulties, he persevered in his education, attending the Mother School and facing the lack of a high school on his home island of Brava.
With determination, he entered the world of work, initially at Faimo, but his ambition led him to new opportunities.
He became a typist at the former JAAC-CV, quickly rising to secretarial positions.
His search for knowledge led him to internships in Germany and Russia, broadening his horizons.
Back in Cape Verde, he joined the PAICV, showing his commitment to the development of his country.
On the sports field, his passion for football took him from his time at Escola do Benfica do Huambo, in Angola, to the fields of Brava, where he shone in the Juniors of Nova Sintra at the age of 16, and was promoted to the main team of Morabeza at the age of 18.
He stood out on the football scene, reaching second place in the Cape Verde Cup final, leaving an indelible mark as one of Brava and Cape Verde's best wingers in the 80s.
Coming from a family of talented players, his brothers Txico, João and Ruy, also left their marks on football in Brava.
After ending his career as a player, Alberto Gomes dedicated more than a decade as a manager and was president of Morabeza for two terms, demonstrating his unconditional love for the club and the island, contributing significantly to the development of local football.
Thus, Alberto Gomes, or simply "Tintin", remains a living legend of Bravense football.
