The initiative aims to recognize the cultural contribution of John Vieira, who throughout his 40-year career has taken traditional Cape Verdean music, with particular emphasis on morna and Coladera, across borders, serving as a link and source of pride for the vibrant Cape Verdean community in the diaspora.

Born on the island of Brava, John Vieira emigrated to the United States, where he solidified his artistic career without ever losing the roots that connect him to his homeland. His live performances have been marked by the exaltation of Brava's identity, earning the respect of professional colleagues and successive generations of fans. According to the organizing committee, celebrating this milestone is also celebrating the history of emigration itself and the resilience of Cape Verdean culture abroad.

The tribute promises to bring together family members, long-time friends, public figures and various names in music living in the USA, in an atmosphere that is expected to be full of emotion, sharing and, above all, musical memories. Tickets are already on sale for $40 and the artists Sandro, Gau, Djedjes, Calu, JNB, Nho Nani and Vivi 's are some of the evening's acts.
