A male baby was born yesterday afternoon, Friday 16th, on board the NSAR vessel "Ponta Nhô Martinho", during a medical evacuation mission between the islands of Brava and Fogo, in an operation conducted by the Coast Guard.
The birth took place in the middle of a sea crossing, when a 30-week pregnant woman unexpectedly went into labor.

The mission included a Coast Guard operation.
The mission was attended by five Coast Guard soldiers, two nurses and a companion of the parturient woman, who provided immediate support and ensured all the necessary conditions for the delivery, until the safe arrival at the destination, Fogo Island.
