Brava: CNPD promotes awareness-raising actions on data protection in the municipality
The National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) is promoting this Friday, 24th, in Brava a series of awareness-raising and dialogic discussion actions on the importance of protecting personal data.
The initiative aims to strengthen the knowledge and trust of citizens and data controllers, promoting a culture of security and responsibility in the use of personal information.
Activities begin at 10:00 am at Eugénio Tavares Secondary School, with a talk aimed at teenagers and young people about data protection in a digital environment.
The event's main objective is to promote digital literacy among students, raising awareness of the challenges and responsibilities of using personal data responsibly and safely, especially in schools and on social media.
Later, at 3:00 pm, in the Main Hall of the Brava City Council, a second lecture will take place, this time open to the island's leaders, focusing on the processing of personal data by the Public Administration.
This dialogue aims to foster good practices in data management by public entities, in accordance with current legislation, promoting greater transparency and respect for citizens' rights.
The CNPD calls for community participation in these meetings as they are of “great importance”.
