Speaking to journalists, Sónia Coelho pointed out that this year they had managed to include a larger number of elderly people, although they had wanted to bring in old people from all over the municipality, which was not possible.

According to the same source, the Red Cross carried out a nationwide activity to make sure today didn't go by unnoticed, indicating that in Brava the elderly carried out some activities.

"They did physical exercises with physical education teacher Eurico Barros and there was also a convivial lunch so that they could eat and also catch up with their colleagues," he said.

The official also said that this morning there was a meeting with the mayor of Brava, Amândio Brito, and the comedian living in the United States, known as "Mocho ká ta kumi banana". The meeting served to discuss various issues, including the implementation of future projects, he said.

For her part, Rosa Maria Vieira, an elderly woman, was very happy with today's event; however, she urged society to take care of their elders every day, because it was they who did everything for their children.

"We are old, yes, but we are not dead, of course we need care, love carts, so I ask the younger ones to take good care of their elders, so that they return the love that was given to them before. Thank you to the Red Cross for everything you have done for us," he said.
