Brava: Nova Sintra Educational Complex marks International Women's Day with decentralized activities

The Educational Complex of Nova Sintra (CENS) has scheduled a range of activities to mark International Women's Day, on the 8th of March, which will take place in various schools in the educational complex.

The information was provided to Inforpress by the sub-director for Social Inclusion and Citizenship Promotion matters in Cluster I on Brava, Milena Gomes, explaining that the aim is to bring women and mothers closer to schools, demonstrate the importance of each one and their role in society, but also honoring women and highlighting their role and contribution to education.

According to the same source, these activities will not be carried out at the group's headquarters school, in this case at Eugénio Tavares Secondary School, but at the schools that make up the CENS.

In this case, in Nova Sintra, this official informed that they have scheduled an activity at the Manuel Rodrigues Gomes School where they will hold an “afternoon tea” with the women, but also an “open conversation” related to women's health.

Likewise, at the Lém school they will deal with issues related to HIV/AIDS and the particular situation on the island of Brava, measures that are being taken, how the health team has acted in this situation, but also the forms of prevention and care to be taken be taken.

In Cova Rodela, the conversation will be about parental responsibility in the education of children and at the school in Mato Grande, health technicians will talk about breast cancer, followed by some physical activities and an afternoon of tea.

These activities, as Milena Gomes explained, are not restricted to mothers who have students in these schools, but to all women and mothers, as it is a way for each one to reflect on their role and importance both in society and in education.
