Brava: Melissa Lopes wins the Miss Santana de Mato 2023 contest

The contest, organized by the association Amigos Associados de Santana do Mato (Amasama), took place in the multipurpose room of this location and had the participation of eight candidates from different locations on the island.

Miss Melissa Lopes, in addition to enjoying the title of “Miss Santana de Mato” for a year, also took home the Miss Photogenic sash.

Maia took the sash of Miss Simpatia, Thalia was elected second lady and Domingas, first lady.

Speaking to Inforpress, Sónia Pereira, a member of the organization of the event, made a “positive” balance, praising the mass participation of the population of Brave.

He added that they were already waiting for a certain number, but during the course of the event, they saw the multipurpose room full, something that exceeded initial expectations, in fact, a human warmth that, according to the same source, has accompanied the group since the beginning of sports activities.

The same source stressed that in previous years they held other miss titles, but this year they decided to resume the contest with the “standards” that society imposes and said he believed that this return was popular with the public.

The elected Miss, Melissa Lopes, considered that this is the beginning of many other fights that will come ahead, highlighting that this victory showed her that she should never doubt her ability.

As he said, he never imagined reaching this level, having started rehearsals because some friends and family insisted, but by his own will he would not have even signed up.

“Now I am sure that I can do anything, as long as it is done with dedication and willpower”, he concluded.

Since the 12th of July, the association has been carrying out a series of cultural and sports activities, which culminate on the 25th with athletics competitions, cycling competitions, among others.

This activity, among others, was carried out as part of the festivities of the Flag of Nha Santana de Mato, celebrated on the 26th of July and which takes place in Mato, parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte.
