Brava Municipal Assembly approves Budget and Activity Plan for 2026
Cidade de Nova Sintra, December 6, 2025 (Bravanews) - The Brava Municipal Assembly, under the chairmanship of Ivone Cardoso, approved yesterday afternoon, December 5, the Budget and Plan of Activities (POA) of the Municipality of Brava for the year 2026.
The proposal was approved with 8 votes in favor, 3 abstentions and 1 vote against. The annual budget is worth 100,000 contos, the equivalent of approximately two million and seven hundred thousands dollars.
The vote revealed the following distribution of votes between the parties and deputies:

2 votes from MPs Samuel Baptista Varela and João Paulo Silva of the MpD.

3 abstentions from the MpD.

1 vote against by the MpD.
An unprecedented event marked the voting session: MP João José Delgado left the session moments before the vote on the Budget began. The reason for his departure was not immediately clear, but his act did not prevent the Assembly from deliberating.
The Budget and Activity Plan now approved outline the municipality's lines of investment and priorities for the coming year, with a view to the development and well-being of the residents of the island of Brava.
