The Brava City Council announced the delivery of a symbolic check to the Fluorescer Brava Project, the result of the proceeds of the 2025 Benefit Dinner promoted by the Dret.u Foundation. The presentation was made by the First Lady of Cape Verde and president of the foundation, Débora Katísa Carvalho.
The Fluorescer Brava Project is an initiative of the Brava City Council, in partnership with dentist Dr. Carla Freire and other collaborators. The main aim of the action is to combat and treat cases of dental fluorosis on the island, a condition that mainly affects children and young people, with an impact on oral health and self-esteem.
According to the city council, the funding will enable free treatments to be offered using modern, minimally invasive techniques, as well as strengthening the training of local professionals. The measure aims to ensure continuity for the project and expand the technical response available on the Brava.
The municipality stresses that oral health is a fundamental part of the dignity and well-being of the population. With this support, the Fluorescer Brava Project gains new impetus to promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life on the island.
