The information was given to Inforpress by the delegate from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA), Ermelindo Barros, who explained that the project includes cleaning and reforestation actions with fruit plants, endemic species and fodder, as well as the sowing of seeds for various pastures.

At the same time, according to the official, crucial "structuring works" are underway to improve water availability and ensure a good agricultural year.

In this context, Ermelindo Barros said that three reservoirs will be rehabilitated in the towns of Covoada, Pau and Cova Rodela, and a new reservoir will be built from scratch in the Pedra Martin area.

The MAA delegate stressed the importance of the soil and water conservation interventions taking place in various areas of Brava, as "fundamental to improving agricultural productivity and combating environmental degradation".

The MAA delegation in Brava, working closely with the ministry's central services, reiterated its commitment to local producers.

"We are aware of the growing challenges posed by climate change and we will continue to work with proximity, technical dedication and a sustainable vision to promote resilient, productive and safe agriculture," he concluded.
