Brava Represented at National Championship by Experienced Referees
Brava will be represented in the second round of the National Football Championship by referees Ovídio Tavares and Artur Fortes, who will be part of the refereeing team for the match between Boavista da Praia and Académica do Sal.
The island of Brava is once again present in the National Football Championship through its refereeing team, which leaves today for the city of Praia, where it will direct the match between Boavista da Praia and Académica do Sal, referring to the second round of the competition.
The Bravense team will be led by central referee Ovídio Tavares, considered one of the most respected names in refereeing on the island. With over 15 years' experience in national soccer, Ovídio Tavares has built a career marked by discipline, competence and a commitment to sporting truth.
The assistant referee will be Artur Fortes, also with vast experience in national competitions and recognized for his good displays and professionalism on the pitch.
The refereeing quartet will be completed by two referees from the island of Fogo. The initial intention was to have a team made up entirely of referees from Brava, but the scarcity of trained referees on the island has prevented this possibility.
The situation highlights the need to encourage more young Brava players to invest in refereeing training, at a time when the island is facing difficulties in securing consistent representation in regional and national competitions.
