Brava/Athletics: Daniel Ramos becomes Santana de Mato race champion
Athlete Daniel Ramos won the senior athletics championship today in the Santana de Mato race, held on the island of Brava.

The young man, who is taking part in an official race for the third time, took first place on the podium for the second time in the race, which included four senior participants and other athletes in the veterans and children's categories.
To the press, Daniel Ramos said that he had achieved his goal of winning first place and considered that the course was "quite simple".
"I don't usually train for these competitions, but I intend to take athletics more seriously", she stressed.
For her part, Patrícia Duarte, the usual winner of the athletics events in the senior women's category in Brava, who this time was the only participant in her category, regretted the fact that more young people didn't take part in the event.
"Our island is going downhill in terms of sport, because young people don't want to do it anymore, they just want to party and drink. There needs to be more incentives and talks so that young people can become aware and see that sport is the best way forward," he concluded.
In the veterans' category, Aguinaldo de Sousa was the winner.
