The President of CMB hosts a special meeting with Brava emigrants residing in the USA.

The group of emigrants, returning to their birthplace to reunite with family and experience local traditions, was welcomed with enthusiasm. However, the highlight of the gathering was the gesture of a fellow countryman affectionately known as Xaxe. This native of Brava traveled directly from the USA with his band on a completely community-oriented mission: to perform without any financial cost during the Festivities of Our Lady of Grace in the town of Nossa Senhora do Monte.

The initiative of Xaxe and his musicians to provide free entertainment at one of the most emblematic religious and cultural festivals in the municipality reflects a profound spirit of solidarity, love for the homeland, and preservation of local traditions.

During the welcoming ceremony, the municipal administration made a point of expressing its official appreciation for this selfless demonstration of affection for the island.

"This gesture of immense generosity, love for the land, and community spirit deserves the deepest recognition, appreciation, and gratitude from the Brava Municipal Council and all the people of Brava, both on the island and in the diaspora. It is with immense pride that we see the sons and daughters of this land returning and contributing to building our culture."

The support of members of the diaspora continues to play a vital role in the social and cultural dynamics of Brava. Attitudes like Xaxe's reinforce the umbilical bond between Brava's emigrants and their homeland, proving that geographical boundaries do not diminish the commitment to the identity and cultural development of the community.
