José Maria Neves is in São Vicente as part of the 15th Republic Week.
The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, begins this week the hearings with the political parties, as part of the institutional process for setting the date for the next legislative elections. The first audience is with the President of UCID, João Santos Luís, and will take place this Thursday, January 15, at 4pm.
According to a note from the Presidency, given that the President of the Republic is on an official mission on the island of São Vicente, the meeting will be held remotely (via Zoom), from the Palácio do Povo, in Mindelo, since the leader of UCID is currently in the city of Praia.
"At the end of the meeting, the President of UCID, João Santos Luís, will make statements to the media on the premises of the National Assembly," says the same press release.
According to the same source, the audiences for the other political parties will be communicated in the next few hours, as they are confirmed.
According to Inforpress, the program for the 15th Week of the Republic in Mindelo also includes the launch of volume IV of the book "No Ofício do Bem Comum" (In the Office of the Common Good), which compiles the main speeches and messages of the Head of State in the past year.
