Nhô Santo António Festival 2025 pays tribute to João de Manetana
The president of the Community Association of the town of Lém today presented the activities to commemorate the Nhô Santo António 2025 festival, an edition that pays homage to João de Manetana.
Anselmo de Pina, who was speaking to Inforpress, explained that this festival came about on the island through a committee set up in the community of Lém years ago, and was led by João de Pina, this year's honoree.
In addition to the vast cultural activities, namely the election of the miss, futsal tournaments and table games, which are organized every year on this date, this time, the same source said, a theater event is also planned, among other novelties.
"There will also be a competition, a donkey race, which is a tradition on the island, since we don't have horses and we use these animals to compete and I think this is the highlight of this festival on the island," he said.
He said that this year's lunch will be served in the town's sports hall and invited all Bravenses to take part in the festival, which belongs to everyone.
