The Amílcar Cabral Foundation, located in the city of Praia, was robbed on the 5th of July at 6 pm and an important historical collection was stolen. The assailants took with them priceless objects, including a brown suitcase and two light gray balalaika style shirts, which belonged to the renowned Cape Verdean political leader and revolutionary, Amílcar Cabral.

These stolen pieces are considered unique and of incalculable historical value, as they are directly linked to the life and legacy of Amílcar Cabral, one of the main protagonists of the struggle for independence in Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau. Their influence and contribution to the history of these countries are widely recognized and these objects represent a significant part of that history.

The Amílcar Cabral Foundation, responsible for preserving and disseminating the legacy of the Cape Verdean leader, calls for the cooperation and solidarity of the population so that, if they find these stolen objects, they return them to the Foundation's headquarters, located in Plateau, close to Nossa Senhora Church da Graça, in front of the Public Prosecutor's Office. As a way of saying thank you, a gratuity will be offered to whoever makes the return.

The community is mobilized to help locate the stolen objects and it is believed that the dissemination of photographs of the items can facilitate their identification and recovery. Therefore, we ask everyone to be aware and share these images in order to increase the chances of success in the search for the stolen historical objects.

In the meantime, the Judiciary Police is investigating the case and asks those who have any relevant information about the whereabouts of the stolen objects to contact them through the toll-free number 134. history of Cape Verde.

The Amílcar Cabral Foundation and the entire Cape Verdean community are hopeful that these valuable objects can be recovered and returned to their rightful place, contributing to the preservation of the memory and historical importance of Amílcar Cabral and his fight for independence and social justice.
