Brava Health Precinct receives a visit from a member of the US Consulate
Nova Sintra City, October 11, 2025 (Bravanews) - The Ilha Brava Health Precinct received a visit from a member of the United States Consulate. The main purpose of the meeting was to allow the consular representative to get to know the facilities in detail, how the local health services work and, specifically, the procedures for evacuating patients.
According to a statement from the Health Precinct, the visit demonstrates a potential interest on the part of the Consulate in getting to know the island's health capacity and protocols, which, as Cape Verde's smallest inhabited island, faces unique logistical challenges, particularly with regard to medical evacuations, which generally rely on sea transport to the neighboring island of Fogo or to Santiago.
The Health Precinct, located in Nova Sintra, has been working consistently to improve its health indicators and the quality of care provided to the Bravense population, including through the recent acquisition of new equipment and ambulances.
The presence of the US Consulate member in the local health structure suggests Brava's relevance in the context of international relations and support in the area of health and medical logistics.
