Musician Júlio Correia joins the SCM Family in the fight for copyright
Praia, May 24, 2025 (Bravanews) - The Cape Verdean Music Society (SCM) announces the integration of another important name into its family. In a statement, SCM announces that Júlio Lopes Correia, known artistically as Júlio Correia. Author, composer, instrumentalist and performer, Júlio Correia joins SCM to strengthen the mission of defending copyright in Cape Verde and in the Diaspora.
In the same statement, SCM expressed its gratitude for the trust placed in the entity by Júlio Correia as a collective manager. The organization reiterates its commitment to continue the "noble work" of protecting copyright, highlighting the importance of unity for this purpose.
Júlio Correia's membership is a significant step for SCM, reinforcing its representation and capacity to act in the protection of Cape Verdean music creators. SCM and Júlio Correia will continue "together for Copyright and Related Rights in Cape Verde!", with the conviction that "music is life!".
