Bravense pride, Artur ieira, poet, writer and journalist
He is a full member of the International Academy of Letters and lives in Rio de Janeiro. He graduated in Accounting and Business Administration, and in Journalism and Economic Sciences. He has taken part in various literary events and collaborated with magazines and newspapers in Brazil, Europe, Cape Verde and the USA. With Luis Romano, he founded and directed the magazine "Morabeza - Divulgação Internacional da Arte e Cultura Caboverdiana" (Morabeza - International Dissemination of Cape Verdean Art and Culture).
From an early age he molded himself to the contingencies of the Archipelago's disadvantaged life.
His soul brings back the shades of scenes he has seen and shared among humble people.
For this reason, almost all of his writings summarize a message to induce our people on the path of faith, perseverance and work, for the sake of a better Cape Verde.

There are several Cape Verdean personalities who deserve public recognition for their achievements in favor of Culture.
