The ship for the Brava/Fogo route has already been purchased and will arrive between May and June
The government of Cape Verde has announced the acquisition of a new ship for the Brava/Fogo route, scheduled to arrive between May and June, with the aim of improving transportation, safety and mobility in the region.
The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, has announced that the ship destined for the Brava/Fogo/Brava maritime route has already been purchased and should arrive in the country between May and June.
The measure fulfills a commitment previously made to the population of the island of Brava, aimed at strengthening the maritime connection with the island of Fogo. According to the head of government, this is a concrete solution for improving passenger mobility, facilitating the transportation of goods and ensuring greater safety and predictability in travel.
The new vessel comes as a response to a historical need of the Bravense population, which for years has faced challenges in terms of regular and efficient access to maritime transportation. The ship's operation should help boost the local economy and reduce the island's isolation.
Cabo Verde thus continues to invest in essential infrastructure and services, with the government reinforcing its commitment to keeping promises and delivering practical solutions to the population.
