Brava City Council delivered 820 books to all schools in the Brava Municipality.
The Brava City Council, through the Education Department, in the person of Councilor Mário Jorge Correia Soares Rodriguez MJ, in partnership with the Oeiras City Council - Portugal, delivered 820 books to all schools in the Municipality of Brava.
This action also fits into the educational policy that the Bravense Municipality has regarding municipal education, highlights the benefactor.
This donation comes at a "good time", when schools in the Municipality of Brava participate in the Competition National Reading Plan as part of the National Reading Plan, in which our children are the biggest beneficiaries. Remember the excellent participation in the 2023 National Reading Competition, in which a Brava student came in second place.
Literature is of great importance for the development of the individual as it is a practice that helps in the formation of personality. The habit of reading makes people develop and expand their imagination, creativity, vocabulary, interpretation of the world and experience, which greatly contributes to education.
In literature, there is a bridge between the individual and the world constructed by the narrative. It is possible to experience the characters' experiences, live their emotions and absorb the values they teach.
It is through the habit of reading that children and young people develop and practice their interpretation of text, writing and expansion of vocabulary.
