Transavia will add a third weekly route between Paris and Cape Verde, also starting to fly to the island of São Vicente from November, in addition to Sal and Boa Vista, according to information from the low-cost airline.

According to booking data available on the company's website, , these flights will take place every Saturday, between Paris (Orly) and the island of Sal, scheduled for now until March 30, 2024, the winter period in Europe and of greater tourist demand in Cape Verde.

Already in 2021, Transavia had added a second weekly route between Paris and Cape Verde, starting to fly in the winter period also to the island of Boa Vista, after the initial connection to Sal.

In the schedule made available by Transavia, the three routes to Cape Verde, all on Saturdays, start this year on November 4th, with the base fare per route, on the debut flights to São Vicente, of 226 euros.

Transavia is a low-cost airline of the Air France-KLM group, with main hubs in France and the Netherlands, but which is operated independently.

The Cape Verdean Government's program, presented to parliament in June 2021, allows compensation to airline operators for 'low cost' flights, to ensure the recovery of tourism after the pandemic, and aims to reach, by 2026, an annual demand of 1.2 millions of tourists.

According to the document with the priorities for the legislature, the Government intends to move forward with “a policy of positively inducing demand for the Cape Verde destination”.

The Government wants “a clear commitment to promoting the country's air connectivity with the main issuing markets, betting on support/compensation for 'charter' and/or 'low cost' air operators, with special emphasis on the recovery phase of tourism” , reads in the document.
