Tropical wave could bring rain and strong winds to Cape Verde
Cape Verde may experience rain and strong winds due to the passage of a new tropical wave, with the greatest impact on the Barlavento islands.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INMG) has warned that in the next 24 to 48 hours the weather in Cape Verde could be influenced by a new tropical wave, associated with a low pressure center moving south of the archipelago. The forecast calls for periods of rain of varying intensity and a temporary intensification of the north-east wind, with gusts of between 20 and 38 km/h.
On the Eastern Windward islands, from dawn and throughout the 17th, drizzle or light rain is expected, which may be moderate in Boa Vista. In the Western Windward Islands, the possibility of drizzle and light rain is expected from the evening onwards.
As for the sea, the INMG predicts south/southeast waves of between 1.0 and 2.5 meters in the Sotavento and northeast waves of the same height in the Barlavento islands and the Inter-island sectors.
