The young man from Brave, Bruno Miranda, 23 years old, wants to break the “taboo” that there are jobs for men and women. At the moment, the beautician, who lives in Palmarejo, in the city of Praia, is quite talented in the care and beauty treatment of people, especially women. However, he hopes that the country offers conditions for accessing and training young people in the area, regardless of gender.

In an exclusive interview with Asemanaonline, Bruno Miranda guarantees that, although he does not have specific training in the area, he began to gain a passion for aesthetic and beauty care with “a simple manicure and pedicure” (manicure and pedicure), in the city of Beach – one of the ways to combat youth unemployment and support the family.

“Cape Verde needs to train men in the field of aesthetics and beauty. Incidentally, I am one of the few men who work in this area. I do nails, massage and body treatments, facial cleaning, waxing, among other treatments, in addition to avoiding unemployment, breaking the taboo and ending the prejudice that men should not take care of women's tasks”, he says.

With professional training in “Executive Secretariat” by the Escola Técnica de Saúde e Educação da Praia, Bruno, who has lived in the city of Praia since 2015, dreams of taking a higher education in aesthetics and creating his own company in the country, to develop his activities. and integrate more young people who are unemployed.

“It won't be so easy to live on unemployment in this city. Therefore, a young person can opt for several professions, regardless of whether they are male or female. The important thing is to carry out the activity with professionalism and demonstrate talent in what you perform”, he reveals, adding that Cape Verde needs to end the culture that “tasks performed by women should not be occupied by men”.
