Although this is not a new issue for those who follow the parish’s daily life, the passage of time and the lack of infrastructure projects make it inevitable to revisit a topic that directly affects the entire local community.

The building, which once served as a hub of vitality and educational development for the community, now shows clear signs of wear and tear and a lack of adequate preventive and corrective maintenance.

The progressive deterioration of the facilities affects, on a daily basis, the conditions under which children, teachers, and staff carry out their educational and administrative duties, requiring an increased effort from all involved.

Problems such as water leaks during the rainiest seasons, peeling paint on interior and exterior walls, and visible wear and tear on the plumbing and electrical systems have become part of the school’s daily reality.

The situation also extends to the playgrounds and recreational areas, where the lack of renovations limits the ability to conduct outdoor activities with the safety and comfort that would be desirable for the students.

Over the past decade, the educational community has witnessed successive debates and promises of action, but the slowness of administrative processes has systematically delayed the start of the necessary construction work.

Many parents and residents of the parish express their dissatisfaction at seeing infrastructure so crucial to the community remain in a state of disrepair year after year.

It is argued that ensuring a safe, modern, and welcoming school environment is a fundamental right of the students at Nossa Senhora do Monte and an essential condition for families to settle in the region.

Given the persistence of this situation, the community is once again appealing to the relevant authorities to ensure that the renovation project finally moves beyond the planning stage and translates into concrete actions on the ground.
