Brava: Local authority strengthens sanitation sector with new materials and equipment
Brava City Council today handed over various materials and equipment for the sanitation sector, in an initiative aimed at strengthening working conditions and improving environmental quality in the municipality.
In statements to Inforpress, Mayor Amândio Brito stressed that the sector was facing major shortages in terms of materials and equipment, stressing that this acquisition was the result of a partnership and coordination that made it possible to mobilize resources from the Environment Fund.
According to the mayor, the equipment delivered is intended not only for sanitation, but also for gardening, and will now provide better conditions for cleaning and maintaining public spaces.
"We know that sanitation is a fundamental pillar in this process. This investment has come at a good time and will certainly help us to have a more attractive and healthier municipality, but above all to guarantee quality public health," he said.
The mayor also stressed that this initiative is also a recognition of the efforts of the workers in the sector.
"It's important that our workers feel valued and realize that everything they have done deserves the attention of the local authority," he stressed.
Among the materials purchased are garbage cans, which will be distributed at various strategic points on the island, especially in areas where there is a greater accumulation of waste.
The municipality is therefore calling on residents to take responsibility for the proper use of the equipment made available to the community.
Amândio Brito guaranteed that this will not be the last intervention in the sector.
"We don't want to stop here. This is just another important stage, as we will continue to work to achieve new goals and make Brava the island we all want it to be, that is, an attractive island, a leading tourist destination and a source of pride for all Bravenses," he concluded.
