Brava: Friar Odair Gonçalves is the new parish priest of the two parishes on the island

Friar Odair Gonçalves, a Capuchin friar, is the new parish priest of the parishes of São João Batista and Nossa Senhora do Monte, both on the island of Brava.
Ordained in July 2018, Odair was in the Capuchin fraternity of Praia where he was a teacher at the Centro Educativo Miraflores and was also deputy formator of the Capuchin postulants. This is your first experience at this level.
Born in São Domingos, on the island of Santiago, Friar Odair replaces his confrere Friar Euclides Pires in his position. This was transferred to the city of Praia to assist Father Ottavio Fasano.
The inauguration of Frei Odair should take place this weekend and will be sworn in by Father Egídio Santos, vicar forane in the Fogo e Brava region.
