Brava Hosts First StartUp Weekend and Reveals the Island's Innovative Potential
The island of Brava hosted StartUp Weekend for the first time, an event that brought together 26 participants and developed six innovative projects in 54 hours, revealing the island's entrepreneurial potential and boosting local innovation.
Nova Sintra hosted the first StartUp Weekend on the island of Brava from August 1st to 3rd, an event that marked a turning point in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. For 54 intense hours, 26 participants brought six innovative projects to life, accompanied by 10 mentors, two inspirational speakers and three experienced judges.
Organized by the Câmara Municipal da Brava in partnership with Pró Empresa, the event exceeded expectations and demonstrated that creative talent and entrepreneurial spirit also flourish on Cape Verde's smaller islands. The projects presented reflected solutions with the potential to transform the future of entrepreneurship in the country.
StartUp Weekend Brava was celebrated as a real success and left the promise that this was just the first of many editions aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration and the creation of new economic opportunities on the island.
"You have proved that talent and innovative potential are present on all the islands of Cape Verde - and Brava is no exception," said the organizers at the close of the event.
