With the presentation of a single list, militant Samuel Varela is the candidate virtually elected to take over the leadership of the party's regional structure on the island. Varela leads a list made up of around two dozen militants, who promise to strengthen the party's work on Brava.

In an initial conversation with Bravanews, Samuel Varela said that his motion, which is not yet completely closed, is based on a certain political coherence and greater openness of the party to civil society and the grassroots. "New times bring new challenges, and it will always be good to listen to everyone at all times."

"Our main goal is to build a party that is stronger, more united and, above all, closer to the people of Brava. We want an MpD where all militants feel valued and where the doors are open to receive contributions from civil society, so that we can better respond to the challenges facing the Brava," said Varela.

The single list accompanying Samuel Varela is marked by diversity and includes names that will be responsible for boosting crucial areas for the MpD's political and social action on the island. Some activists contacted by Bravanews hope that the new commission will take office with a commitment to work actively for the development and cohesion of the island.

The election represents a moment of internal reorganization for the party on Brava, with the aim of strengthening the local structure and preparing the MpD for the upcoming legislative and municipal challenges.
