Brava: Catholic faithful gather for Eucharistic celebration in honor of Our Lady of the Mount

The Christian faithful, who gathered to fulfill promises and ask for graces from Nossa Senhora do Monte, patroness of the parish, began this devotional walk in a procession that left the town of Mato towards the center of the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte, on a route made in prayer and with the singing of songs.

The Eucharistic celebration took place in the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte and was presided over by Father Janilson Silva.

Speaking to Inforpress after the solemn mass, the priest showed that Mary conveyed two messages, namely the sign of hope and consolation.

Because, as he explained, with Mary Christians can see that God is always present in the midst of his people and, therefore, gave Christians this mother who is always present, supports, cares for and protects each one.

“With Maria Senhora do Monte we learn above all to bear witness to that hope that the world needs so much, even though in the midst of uncertainties we know that God does not abandon his people”, defended this religious, reinforcing that this is why God gave Christians a Mother , and as children, he stressed that it is necessary for Christians to continue to bear witness to this hope that comes from Mary.

Asked about what paths Maria proposes to Christians in the face of the “turbulence” of society, Father Janilson highlighted that the first invitation that Mary makes is “not to be afraid”, justifying that whoever has God has everything in life.

“Mary knew how to trust and leave everything in the hands of God, and that is why she left in a hurry to meet her cousin Isabel to serve her, because she had God with her”, he underlined, emphasizing that even in the moments of tribulation imposed by society today is full of challenges, you have to trust in God and put everything in his hands “to reach the goal, which is happiness”.

The religious celebrations, mass and procession were followed by the traditional lunch prepared by the community, with the involvement of various entities and emigrants.

The Dogma of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin was solemnly proclaimed by Pope Pius XII on November 1, 1950, and his feast is celebrated on August 15.
