Brava: Man found dead at his home in the Figueira Grande area
An 86-year-old man was found dead on the afternoon of Tuesday, the 8th, at his residence in the town of Figueira Grande, Vila de Nova Sintra.
This information was advanced to Inforpress by the person in charge of the Municipal Service of Firefighters and Civil Protection in Brava, António Lopes, adding that the individual, named João da Silva Pires, popularly known as Djandjuca, was found dead in the backyard of his residence , where he resided alone.
The same source reported that the body was found following the alert, made by the deputy commander of the Brava Police Station at around 1:15 pm.
The body was found in a state of decomposition, which leads authorities to believe that the man would have died two or three days ago.
According to this official, the Health Officer and the Public Prosecutor of the District of Brava were also contacted, who determined that the body should be buried later today and the Civil Protection of Brava has already proceeded with the burial of the same.
