BRAVA ON THE RICHTER SCALE - Marcos Rocha
It was on August 3, 2016 that the people of Brava were surprised by news of a possible volcanic eruption on the island, but precisely in the area of Cova da Joana and Achada Benfica whose population was evacuated to the cities of Nova and Sintra and housed in a school.
The government promptly sent a team from the University of Cape Verde and Civil Protection to collect information and study the field. After 2 days, the team and the Municipal Council met in the CMB Noble Hall, with doors closed to journalists and the civilian population, and presented the results of the study.
How is it possible, nowadays, with panic raised on that date (Possible volcanic eruption) until today the children of the island do not have concrete and reliable information on this matter.
