Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to hold FSY youth meeting in Praia in August
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is holding the "For the Strength of Youth" (FSY) youth conference in Praia from August 10 to 15, which is expected to bring together around 500 participants.
In statements to Inforpress, the FSY session director, Evandro Fonseca, said that the meeting will take place on the campus of the University of Cape Verde, in Palmarejo Grande, where participants will be divided into three sessions, by region.
According to the same source, the event is an annual religious activity aimed at young people between the ages of 14 and 18, with the aim of strengthening faith in Jesus Christ, promoting values and encouraging the creation of friendships between participants.
The expression "For the Strength of Youth" designates a program of conferences and activities aimed at teenagers.
"We are here to instruct the young people who will be taking part on how all the logistics will work and what will be expected during this 2026 session," he said.
Evandro Fonseca also pointed out that the event has been held since 2009. Initially, it took place every three years, but was later promoted annually.
He assured that the organization has a team made up of nurses, doctors and psychologists to guarantee the accompaniment and well-being of the young people during the meeting.
"We have a very organized structure and the young people will be well received and always supervised", he assured.
During the conference, participants will have access to lectures, religious studies, musical activities, dance and sports practices.
