Clóvis Silva leads voting intentions in digital survey by Bravanews
Nova Sintra City, April 11, 2026 (Bravanews) - Between April 8 and 10, the news portal Bravanews conducted an opinion poll focusing on the electoral preferences of Bravenses in relation to the local list leaders. In a scenario that polarizes between the two largest political forces in Cape Verde, Clóvis Silva, representative of the PAICV, comes out on top of the preference of those consulted.
The survey, which heard a total of 226 people through social media platforms, reveals a thermometer of the political moment on the "Island of Flowers". According to the data collected:
-
Clóvis Silva (PAICV): 104 votes (46%)
-
Ivone Silva (MpD): 82 votes (36.3%)
-
Don't know: 10 people (4.4%)
-
Did not answer: 30 people (13.3%)
Clóvis Silva's lead over Ivone Silva is approximately 9.7 percentage points among all those polled. Although the survey does not have the scientific rigour of an official poll (with samples stratified by age or residential area), it reflects the digital mobilization and sentiment of an active part of the Bravense population that uses social networks for political debate.
When analyzing this survey, it is possible to extract three fundamental points about the current political climate on the island:
1. Consolidated polarization
The figures reaffirm that the Brava continues to be a stage for direct competition between the PAICV and the MpD. With only around 4.4% undecided ("don't know"), there seems to be an early crystallization of the vote. This indicates that the ideas of the list leaders are already well disseminated or that party loyalty on the island remains very strong.
2. The voter profile
It is important to note that the survey was carried out via social networks. Generally, this audience tends to be younger. Clóvis Silva's lead could indicate a more effective penetration of the PAICV on digital platforms or a desire for change on the part of this specific demographic. On the other hand, the MpD, traditionally strong in various bases, may have an electorate that is more silent or less present in this specific dynamic of private messaging.
3. The Margin of Silence
The sum of those who "don't know" and "didn't answer" reaches 17.7%. In an election where the current difference is 22 votes (in this survey), this group of almost 40 people is the one who has the final say. If we consider that many don't respond for fear of political exposure or genuine doubt, the fieldwork in the coming weeks will be crucial for both candidates.
4. Candidates' Challenge
-
For Clóvis Silva (PAICV):The challenge is to convert digital enthusiasm into real votes at the polls, ensuring that the favouritism shown online translates into mobilization on the ground.
-
For Ivone Silva (MpD):The focus should be on capturing the undecided vote and trying to reverse the opponent's leadership narrative, focusing on segments of the population that may not have been reached by this digital survey.
Conclusion: Although it is a momentary "flash", the Bravanews data puts Clóvis Silva in a position of psychological advantage, but makes it clear that the race in Brava remains open and will be decided in the detail of direct persuasion.
