Cruz di Djandanoli rebuilt after decades of neglect: An achievement for the local community
Nova Sintra, August 8, 2023 - After years of neglect and wear and tear, the iconic Cruz di Djandanoli, a historical and cultural landmark in the region, has finally been restored and revitalized to the delight of local residents and future generations. The Djandanoli community celebrated the reopening of the intersection, which had long since become a dangerous and impassable place.
During the reopening ceremony, the residents of Djandanoli expressed their gratitude and recognition to all those who dedicated their effort to revitalize Cruz di Djandanoli. Filhos de João da Noly worked tirelessly to recreate the details and essence of the cross, bringing back childhood memories for many.

The restoration process involved not only the cement part, but also the painting, and renovation of the surrounding areas.
João Silva, one of João da Noly's sons, in a post on one of his social networks, emphasized the importance of revitalizing the intersection and thanked the community for its patience and support throughout the process. "The Cruz di Djandanoli is a symbol of our resilience and commitment to preserving our heritage for future generations."
The rehabilitation of Cruz di Djandanoli not only restored a significant site, but also inspired residents to unite for further improvements in the area.
