Desporto Brava highlights in the legends of the past, Nelson Martins, a reference in local football
Nelson Martins was born on August 8, 1964 in the small fishing town of Furna, where his passion for football and his local club, Nô Pintcha, began early. He joined the Nô Pintcha team at the age of 15, gaining respect from colleagues and fans due to his winning character.
He represented a family dynasty at the club, with six brothers also playing, four of them in the starting team: Nelson, Da, Tony and Fefy. Later, two other brothers, Maney and Nuno, also stood out.
Nelson played for 17 years at his favorite club, refusing offers from other clubs, and won all of Brava's regional titles.
In addition, he represented the Brava team on several occasions.
He was a defender respected by opponents, but also played in a number of positions, including goalkeeper. After his playing career, he played roles as a coach and other roles at Nô Pintcha.
Currently, Nelson lives in Portugal, but always follows football on his home island and continues to support his favorite team, being a living example to follow.
