Brava district court sentences two individuals to pre-trial detention for drug trafficking
The Brava District Court today ordered the pre-trial detention of two individuals (a man and a woman), aged between 33 and 49, suspected of being involved in drug trafficking on the island.
According to reports, a third person, also involved in the case, has been released, but is subject to a ban on leaving the island or the country and the obligation to report periodically to the authorities.
The case is under judicial secrecy, so it is not possible to disclose further details at this time, while the authorities continue with their ongoing investigations.
The detainees are at the Brava police station and will later be taken to the civil jail on the island of Fogo.
