Government concludes support for families affected by fire at Nova Sintra shopping center
The Ministry of Family, Inclusion and Social Development (MFIDS) announced on Monday that the ten families affected by the fire at the Nova Sintra shopping center on the island of Brava have already received the financial support promised by the government.
According to a post by Minister Fernando Elísio Freire on his official Facebook page, quoted by Inforpress, "the essentials have been guaranteed" and that the support goes beyond the material, aiming to rebuild "the dignity and hope" of the Bravense families.
The action, adds the publication, reinforces the government's policy that "no one is left behind" and that solidarity and social cohesion is a guideline of its actions.
The incident, which took place in the early hours of March 26, resulted in the total destruction of 10 stores in the commercial establishment.
To deal with the damage, the government has made a total of 7,350 escudos available, with 6,000 escudos going towards rebuilding the shopping center and 1,350 escudos for direct support to the families affected.
